Indigo (Indigofera) is a flowering plant whose leaves were originally used to blue jeans. It is now widely used for making hair dyes.

When indigo is combined with henna and other herbs, it can give many colors like black, different shades of brown, red, blonde and many more.

Directions:
Indigo can be applied in a one or two step process.

For brown shades, use indigo in one step by mixing with henna as follows:
For reddish brown, use 75% henna and 25% indigo mix.
For brown tones, use 50% indigo and 50% henna mix.
For dark brown tones, use 75% indigo and 25% henna mix.

For Black tones, use 100% henna first and then the second step of indigo at 100% (two steps).
First, apply henna paste to your hair to create a rich, red base. After you wash your hair, in the second step, apply indigo to create the deep, black color. Mix indigo with warm water until it achieves the consistency of pancake batter. Optionally, add 1 teaspoon salt per 100 grams of indigo powder for darker color. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Apply the indigo paste to dry or damp hair in sections, completely covering all the hair down to the roots. Make sure to wear gloves to protect your hands from being stained. Wrap your hair in a shower cap for 1-2 hours. Rinse or wash off thoroughly (some people prefer to use just a conditioner).

Advantages: Gives natural and attractive color to hair without any chemicals. Dispels heat, has a soothing effect, and revitalizes the hair.

Note: Store in a cool, dry place. Do not use the old, left-over paste.
