Description:
Black salt is the most potent on the planet and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for millenniums because of its high content of minerals. It is particularly good for Vata (air) types that struggle with dryness of the colon and need an increase of the water and earth elements. Black salt is a mild laxative and reduces flatulence and heartburn in moderate quantities. It is called Kala Namak in Hindi, Rocksalt in English, and also known as Himalayan black salt. Its unique flavor is a result of a high level of sulfur and is the prime salt of south Asian cuisine.
